COLUMBA HEALTH MINISTRY
The St. Columba Health Ministry was formed
in 2004 in an attempt to assist our Church and it’s already established
committee’s in meeting the needs of our ever growing parish.
We come from all professions and we all had different
reasons that inspired us to join in this ministry, but our goal was the same,
to offer help to our extended family, our parish. We want our fellow parishioners who have
health or wellness needs to feel that St. Columba is a place of nourishment for
their body and soul. We want to solidify the bond between body and soul,
parishioner and Church.
We provide emotional support through
friendly visits, whether at home, in the hospital or in the nursing
facility. Telephone calls to check on parishioners who need a simple
reminder for medication or just a “Hello, we are thinking about you!”
We
help to provide referrals to appropriate agencies and resources until that help
is in place. As well as transportation
and many other services.
If you or anyone you know might
benefit from our services, or if you have a suggestion for additional services
needed in the community, please call us.
We
need volunteers, both adult and junior too!
We meet on the second Wednesday of
each month in the St. Denis /
